Roulette Rules
How to Play Roulette
When it comes to simple casino games, roulette is definitely at
the top of the list. This is not to say that you will become a
dominant roulette player the first spin of the wheel, but it is easy
to get started. The rules of roulette are not as complex as
some others, and even the ones that you do need to know can be
remembered without much effort at all. With that being said, you
want to make sure you know the basic rules and betting involved with
roulette. This way, you can show your stuff from day one.
If you are not too worried about the house edge (it’s larger than
other games), and like slow developing table games, roulette is
probably perfect for you. But remember, slow developing does not
mean boring. After all, anticipating where the ball is going to land
on the wheel is anything but boring; in fact, it can be downright
exciting.
The first thing you will notice is that roulette chips are not
separated by value. In other words, each chip you receive is not
worth a different amount. Instead, your buy-in amount is divided by
your total number of chips in order to determine how much each one
is worth. Obviously, this is a bit different than the way that other
games are played.
Understanding The Roulette Wheel
A United States roulette wheel has 38 slots on it; they are
numbered 1 through 36, a zero, and a double zero. The table is where
you will place your bets, and the layout makes this quite easy to
understand. You will notice that the table has a place to bet on
each number, as well as several outside bets.
After every player makes their bet, the dealer will spin the wheel.
This will send the ball spinning around the wheel. A few seconds
later the ball will stop in one of the 38 slots, and this will
determine if you are a winner.
The bets that you can make are as follows: single numbers, red,
black, odd, even, 1 to 18, 19 to 36, 1 to 12, 13 to 24, 25 to 36,
two numbers, three numbers, four numbers, six numbers, a combination
of 0, 00, 1, 2, 3.
Once you know the details of each bet, you will be able to easily
play roulette with the best of them. The game is based largely on
luck, due to the fact that nobody knows where the ball will stop.
