Royal Flush - This is the highest hand that you can make in a game of poker. If you form this hand you can be rest assured that you have a very good chance of winning. This hand consists of age, king, queen, jack, and ten. They must all be of the same suit.

Straight Flush - This is similar to a Royal, but it can consist of any five cards of the same suit in sequence. If two players both have a straight flush, the one with the highest top card is the winner.

Four of a kind - This hand is exactly what it sounds like. The firth card in this type of hand can be anything. If two players both have four of a kind, the higher cards win. For instance, four 9's would beat four 8's.

Full House - When you have three cards of one rank and two cards of another. For instance, you could have three 7's and two 5's. If two players both have this suit, the rank of the three card set determines the winner.

Flush - This hand is five cards that all have the same suit. If a tie occurs, the player with the highest card wins.

Straight - Five cards in sequence of different suits. If two players have a straight, the one with the high card will come out on top.

Three of a kind - This is the same as four of a kind, but you only need three cards. In the event of a tie, the player with the highest three equal cards will win.

Two Pairs - A pair is considered two cards of the same rank.

High Card - If five cards in a poker hand do not make up any of the winners listed above, the high card is used.
