Phil Hellmuth Profile
Phil Hellmuth is a professional poker player known for the high
level of success that he has had over the years. Although he is only 43 years
old, Hellmuth has managed to win quite a bit of money since he began to play the
game of poker. When it comes to the most well known poker players in the world,
Hellmuth is at the top of the list.
Hellmuth World Series of Poker Record
Hellmuth is best known for the fact that he holds the record for the most bracelets won at World Series of Poker events. As you probably know, it is not easy to win a bracelet. If you have one of these you are considered a huge success; Hellmuth has 11!
Hellmuths Beginning
In 1989, Hellmuth broke onto the poker scene at the tender age of 24. During
this year he became the youngest player to win a World Series of Poker Event. At
this event he defeated the talented two time champion, Johnny Chan.
Hellmuth has never gone too long without winning a World Series of Poker
bracelet. He has won these in the following years: 1989, 1992, three times in
1993, 1997, 2001, two times in 2003, 2006, and 2007. For winning these events,
Hellmuth has accumulated $5,604,386 in prize money. This is good enough for
seventh place all time on the World Series of Poker money list.
Even though Hellmuth has not had nearly as much success on the World Poker Tour,
he has still made some decent money in these tournaments. Despite the fact that
he has never won a World Poker Tour tournament, his career earnings total
$589,964.
In addition to his own success, Hellmuth is dedicated to helping others as well.
One of the ways that he does this is by making poker videos such as his ever
popular “Phil Hellmuth’s Million Dollar Poker Secrets.”
Hellmuth is one of the biggest names in the poker industry due to his success
over the years, instructional videos, and sometimes over-the-top personality.
