Daniel Negreanu - Daniel Negreanu Poker
Daniel Negreanu Profile
Daniel Negreanu is a professional poker player from Canada. Negreanu
dropped out of high school at a young age, and decided that he was going to
become a professional at the game of poker. While this may have sounded like
nothing more than a dream many years ago, Negreanu has shown everybody what he
is made of. Despite the fact that Negreanu is only 33 years old, he has already
accomplished more than most players twice his age.
Negreanu's Poker Success
In 1997, Negreanu finally caught his big break. During this year he won two World Poker Finals events. This netted him more than $133,000, while also serving as a launching pad for his future success. The next year, Negreanu continued his success by becoming the youngest player to win a World Series of Poker tournament; this is a record that he would hold until 2004. For winning this event, Negreanu was awarded the handsome sum of $169,460; which was more than he won in two events the previous year.
Negreanu World Series of Poker
For the next few years the poker world began to see what Negreanu was all about.
During this time he won two World Poker Tour tournaments, as well as another
World Series of Poker bracelet. For all of his hard work and top finishes, the
rewards started to pile up. In 2004, Negreanu was named the World Series of
Poker player of the year. He followed this up in 2005 by winning the World Poker
Tour player of the year title. If he was not already well known by everybody in
the world of poker, by the end of 2005 this was no longer the case.
Over his career, Negreanu has won more than $50,000 in 26 tournaments. This puts
his total tournament winnings at $9,650,000. Within another year or so it is
safe to say that Negreanu will break the $10 million mark.
Daniel Negreanu has built quite the name for himself since taking to
professional poker in 1997. By the time everything is said and done, it is safe
to say that Negreanu will be remembered as one of the best of all time.
