How to Play Craps

Many beginning gamblers stay away from craps because they are intimidated by the manycraps rules rules and a seemingly complex environment. But guess what? Craps is not as hard to play as you may think. Even if you are new to the game, you can learn craps just as easily as any others. No, this game is not as simple as slot machines, but once you learn how to play, you will never look back.

Learning the Basics of Craps

The key to learning the game of craps is to start with the basics. If you attempt to jump forward with advanced techniques, strategies, and bets, you will almost certainly end up backtracking sooner rather than later. When it comes down to it, the beginners who have the most success with craps are those who are not overly anxious when it comes to getting started. Instead, they begin with the basic rules and bets, and then build on this as they become more confident in their skills.

First things first, you need to know that craps is played by rounds. The first roll of the dice in a round of craps is known as the come out roll. In many cases, the entire outcome of a round will be based off of what happens during the come out roll. So obviously, it is very important that you consider every detail of this portion of the game. There are several results of the dice that could end the round on the come out roll. They include: 2, 3, 7, 11, and 12. If any other combination is rolled, it is called the point. To help you remember the point, the dealer will put a white marker on the table. If a point is rolled, the game will continue to be played until a seven or the same point is rolled again.

To give yourself the best chance of success, you will want to learn about dice probability. These probabilities will more or less tell you the chances of certain combinations being rolled.

The pass line is the most common bet in a game of craps. The reason for this is a low 1.41 percent house edge on this type of bet. When you compare this to other possible bets, it is easy to see why almost every player will bet on the pass line.

Now that you know the beginner basics of craps, you can move forward with playing. Believe it or not, after playing for a few minutes you will begin to get the hang of the game. And from there, you will look like a natural craps player!
